Submit an abstract for the 2019 National Meeting co-hosted with the Quebec Medical Association! Abstracts will be accepted until January 31, 2019.
We are pleased to invite participants to submit abstracts for concurrent breakout sessions to be delivered at Choosing Wisely Canada’s 2019 National Meeting: Taking Action, in partnership with the Canadian Medical Association, on May 27, 2019 in Montreal, Quebec.
The 2019 National Meeting, co-hosted with the Quebec Medical Association, will feature 5 themes related to reducing overuse including:
- Quality improvement
- Measurement and evaluation
- Deprescribing
- Patient engagement
- Medical education
Abstracts will be accepted in English and French for oral presentations in our breakout sessions. Please note that French-speaking sessions will be available throughout the day, but not all sessions will be bilingual.
Important Dates:
- Abstracts will be accepted until January 31, 2019.
- Abstracts selected for presentation will be announced starting February 20, 2019.
- National Meeting: May 27, 2019.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
Maximum 250 words. Content submitted after word limit will not be included.
Please include the following information (if applicable):
- Goal
- Activities
- Impact
- Challenges
- Lessons learned
- For measurement and evaluation abstracts, please include background and methods
Registration:
To be included in Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting program, all abstract presenters must register prior to March 15, 2019. Please note, in order for the meeting to be financially viable, we cannot waive registration fees for abstract presenters. Following registration, you will receive an email confirmation with further details related to your presentation.
There is a limit of two presenters for each abstract presented at the 2019 National Meeting.

All relevant abstracts will be accepted into the abstract book and presented to attendees at the 2019 National Meeting. The abstract book will also be available on our website following the meeting.
