On April 23, 2018 Choosing Wisely Canada will host Choosing Wisely Canada: Leading and Implementing Change, our third annual conference for clinicians, patients, researchers, and senior decision makers in the health care system. This year’s theme will focus on leading and implementing change as well as measuring the impact of the emerging evidence of the campaign.
The 2018 Planning Committee for the National Meeting is comprised of Choosing Wisely Canada’s Chair, administrative staff, clinicians and patient representatives. The planning committee is responsible for logistics of the event, speaker selection, conference format, and break out session topics. The planning committee met on three separate occasions to define areas of interest in content, format, and speakers.
In addition, Choosing Wisely Canada invites the submissions of abstracts focused on Patient Engagement. Abstracts that are chosen from our submissions are featured in the panel discussion and individual breakout sessions. Our patient representative will help review abstract submissions in the patient engagement section to select projects that reflect the theme and category for potential breakout sessions.
Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting is open to the public to attend. Patients are welcome to attend all aspects of the national meeting from keynotes, panel discussions, workshops, and breakout sessions.
In addition, the Patient Engagement abstract category will be featured in breakout sessions. Patients and facilitators will lead conversations and engage in dialogue on a topic related to patient engagement or local implementation projects that features patient engagement.
All travel and accommodation expenses for patients participating as speakers or on the planning committee for the 2018 National Meeting have their expenses paid in full and in advance if required.
