The Department of Pediatrics at Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital has created its own Choosing Wisely list, specific to a tertiary care children’s hospital. The list was developed involving clinicians and trainees at the organization, and the final five recommendations were chosen using a scoring system considering expected value, ease of implementation and measurement. A physician champion has been appointed to lead each recommendation.
This list was spearheaded by Associate Pediatrician in Chief at Sick Kids, Dr. Jeremy Friedman. Read his blog ‘As Health Care Providers the Time Has Come to Choose More Wisely’ and check out the final list of five recommendations here.
Do I really need to go to this?
