Submit an abstract for the 2020 National Meeting that will be held in Ottawa, Ontario on May 25 and 26, 2020! Abstracts will be accepted until January 31, 2020.
We are now accepting abstract submissions for oral presentations to be featured at The Unnecessary Conference, Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting, on May 25 and May 26, 2020, in Ottawa, Ontario.
Showcase your Choosing Wisely Canada initiatives and innovative approaches in one of our breakout sessions based on the following themes:
- Quality Improvement/Implementation (e.g. interventions, health policy, interprofessional collaboration, deprescribing)
- Measurement and Evaluation (e.g. administrative data, trends in low-value care, impact of intervention on low-value care)
- Medical Education
- Patient Engagement
Abstracts will be accepted in English and French. Please note that French-speaking sessions will be available throughout the day, but not all sessions will be bilingual.
Important Dates:
- Abstracts will be accepted until January 31, 2020.
- Abstracts selected for oral presentations will be announced by February 19, 2020.
- National Meeting: May 25 & May 26, 2020.
Abstract Submission Guidelines:
Maximum 250 words. Content submitted after the word limit will not be included.
Please include the following information (if applicable):
- Goal
- Activities
- Impact
- Challenges
- Lessons learn
- For measurement and evaluation abstracts, please include background and methods
Registration:
To be included in Choosing Wisely Canada’s National Meeting program, all abstract presenters must register before March 13, 2020. Please note, abstract presenters will not have their registration fees waived for the National Meeting. Following registration, you will receive an email confirmation with further details related to your presentation.
There is a limit of two presenters for each abstract presented at the 2020 National Meeting.
