Choosing Wisely Talks | Is QI as easy as Pii? Harnessing Quality Improvement in Family Medicine

4 Sep 2019

12:00pm ET - 1:00pm ET

The College of Family Physicians of Canada’s (CFPC) newly launched Practice Improvement Initiative (Pii) harnesses quality improvement (QI) approaches, practice-level data, and research to enable family physicians, family medicine residents, and the teams they work in to undertake QI. Pii aims to leverage, scale-up, and share existing QI resources and create new ones where there are gaps. On Wednesday, September 4th, we will be joined by Dr. José Pereira, Director of Research in Academic Family Medicine, CFPC to hear more about the Pii program as well explore how family physicians could earn Mainpro+ credits for implementing quality improvement in their practices.

By the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe the components of the Practice Improvement Initiative (Pii) of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC);
  2. Explain the rationale underlying Pii and its design;
  3. Identify areas where Pii can be leveraged to support Choosing Wisely Canada’s goals and vice versa.

The Choosing Wisely Talks Webinar Series is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
