Healthcare organizations working to reduce medical overuse now have a new tool at their disposal. Dr. Michael Parchman, Senior Investigator, Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute and the Director of the MacColl Center for Health Care Innovation, explained how the Taking Action on Overuse framework and change package can be used as a roadmap for engaging care teams in reducing unnecessary care and making efforts last. He identified evidence-based strategies for obtaining buy-in, motivating behavior changes, and providing the necessary support and infrastructure for health care providers to lead their peers in improving the value of health care.
