Cardiovascular Disease in Primary Care: Simplifying Lipid Guidelines
12:00pm ET - 1:00pm ET
Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of mortality worldwide. With so many lipid-lowering medications and non-pharmacological interventions available, how do we make sense of the emerging evidence and simplify the appropriate management of cardiovascular diseases in primary care?
In November’s Choosing Wisely Talks, experts will discuss the recently updated PEER 2023 Simplified Lipid Guidelines designed to empower primary care providers in shared decision-making of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic choices. Drs. Mike Kolber and Adrienne Lindblad will discuss the new recommendations and their practical implementation to prevent and manage cardiovascular disease in primary care.
Speakers:
- Dr. Mike Kolber, Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Alberta, Associate Director PEER Team
- Dr. Adrienne Lindblad, Clinical Evidence Expert Lead, College of Family Physicians of Canada and Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Family Medicine, University of Alberta
