Learning the Science of Doing Less: Bringing Quality Improvement and Implementation Science Together
12:00pm ET - 1:00pm ET
Adopting implementation science can be an effective way to change existing habits and do more with less. But how do we pair quality improvement projects with implementation science in real-world health care settings?
Join Choosing Wisely Talks on February 8 at 12 p.m. ET to hear from the Choosing Wisely Canada scholars – clinicians participating in a one-year program combining a core curriculum on quality improvement in reducing overuse and de-implementation research methodologies. Learn about how they’ve incorporated implementation science into scholarly projects covering a variety of topics related to overuse, including medication education, decreasing benzodiazepines, and sustainable inhaler prescribing for pediatric asthma.
Speakers:
- Holly Rector, Adult Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology, Women’s College Hospital
- William Silverstein, General Internist, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
- Katie Gardner, Pediatric Emergency Physician, IWK Health in Halifax
