Safeguarding the National Blood Supply: Donations, Appropriate Use, and Planning for the Future in Uncertain Times.

9 Sep 2020

12:00pm EST - 1:00pm EST

This month, we’re talking blood stewardship. Blood is a vital but limited resource that’s affected by donation levels at one end of the supply chain and transfusion practices at the other end. What are some strategies for ensuring that Canada’s health care system has a healthy blood supply? Join a panel of experts in a conversation about this vitally important topic.

Dr. Tanya Petraszko from Canadian Blood Services and Dr. Yulia Lin from Sunnybrook Health Sciences lead the conversation on Choosing Wisely Talks on September 9, at 12 p.m. ET. Lawrie Kaplan, Public Member with the Using Blood Wisely Steering Committee, will provide reflections and commentary following the presentation.

Listen in, or better yet, bring your own experiences to the conversation every first Wednesday of the month from 12 p.m.–1 p.m. (ET).
