Mollie Cole, Manager of Seniors Health Strategic Clinical Network, Alberta Health Services, presented on behalf of the Appropriate Use of Antipsychotics (AUA) Toolkit Working Group.  Over the past three years the Seniors Health Strategic Clinical Network of Alberta Health Services has spear-headed an initiative aimed at ensuring the appropriate use of antipsychotics in older long term care residents with dementia. This presentation gave an overview of the AUA initiative, including their toolkit as well as the sustainability and spread of their plan that resulted in a 50% of antipsychotics prescribed across at 11 early adopter sites in Alberta.
