Bridging the Gap Between Evidence and Practice: What Is All the Fuss About Integrated Knowledge Translation?

22 Sep 2021

12:00pm EST - 1:00pm EST

Delivering appropriate care means following the latest evidence. However, bridging the gap between what is known from research and what is actually done in health care is a difficult task. The focus can often be on improving how knowledge is shared, rather than how it’s produced.

On September 22 at 12 p.m. ET, the De/Implement series returns with a presentation on integrated knowledge translation (IKT) – doing research with the people who use it. Dr. Ian Graham, Senior Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, Professor in the School of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Ottawa and Director of the Integrated Knowledge Translation Research Network, will discuss how IKT can lead to more useful and useable research, more research-informed decisions, more effective and efficient health services, and better health outcomes.
