Dr. Irene Sadek, from Nova Scotia Health Authority, and Dr. Yulia Lin, from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, presented local efforts to improve the quality of transfusion practice such as single vs. double unit transfusion, and hemoglobin thresholds. They also discussed steps to improve appropriateness based on Choosing Wisely Canada recommendations that were ‘bloody easy!’.
