Longwoods HealthcarePapers Series on Choosing Wisely Canada at Five Years

Dr. Bob Bell opened a special issue of HealthcarePapers by describing Choosing Wisely Canada’s first five years as a “remarkable success” which has “achieved universal recognition of unnecessary care as a problem in Canadian health care.” This special issue includes a lead essay authored Karen Born, Tai Huynh and Wendy Levinson, and nine responding essays by leading researchers and health system commentators. The essays consider how to build on the successes to date of the campaign, as well as meet future challenges to addressing the complex problem of overuse in health care.

Read the full issue to learn more about what we have accomplished to date, and how we can continue to foster this important conversation on overuse in the health care system.
