Apply to participate in the Inaugural Choosing Wisely Canada STARS (Students and Trainees Advocating for Resource Stewardship) Resident Summit!

Choosing Wisely Canada STARS is an internationally recognized campaign to engage trainees in advocating for resource stewardship and is supported by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).

  • To coincide with the fifth annual STARS Leadership Summit for undergraduate medical students, the inaugural STARS Resident Summit will bring together residents and fellows from across Canada who want to lead or advance resource stewardship projects.
  • Workshops will be facilitated by quality improvement experts and the small group format will allow participants to receive feedback and refine project ideas. In addition to workshops, residents will attend sessions along with the medical students to encourage collaboration and near-peer mentoring.
  • Registration for the STARS Resident Leadership Summit and Choosing Wisely Canada National Meeting will be covered and recipients will receive a letter affirming their participation in the Leadership Summit and receipt of a registration scholarship
  • Participants are expected to find funding or cover their own transportation and accommodation costs.

HOW TO APPLY:

Residents will be asked to provide a brief statement of interest (maximum 300 words), their CV, and a sponsor letter (from a program director etc.) to STARS@choosingwiselycanada.org by Friday, February 28th, 2020. An active resource stewardship project is not required.
