Choosing Wisely Canada is proud to coordinate the Choosing Wisely international community, which brings together campaigns from around the world. This year’s Choosing Wisely International Roundtable took place in Berlin on November 5 & 6, 2019. The roundtable was hosted by the Bertelsmann Foundation and brought together representatives of campaigns in 24 countries. While mostly concentrated in Western Europe, North America and Australasia, there are now active or planned Choosing Wisely campaigns in all continents with the exception of Antarctica! New countries present at the Berlin meeting included South Africa, Finland and Iceland. The roundtable helps to foster learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration across campaigns. Roundtable highlights included the launch of a new series about Choosing Wisely in the BMJ which will feature educational articles on evidence-based tools and resources to reduce overuse in practice alongside thought-provoking keynote presentations and working groups regarding research and measurement associated with campaigns, and panel presentations sharing Choosing Wisely innovations.
