The third Leadership Summit from Home brought together current and past students to share ideas on advancing resource stewardship in medical education.

Choosing Wisely Canada STARS moved online in 2020-2021. In addition to leading local efforts to advance resource stewardship in medical education and collaborating on national events, students also participated in a series of three virtual Leadership Summits. The third Leadership Summit from Home took place on Sunday March 7, 2021 and featured faculty who are past STARS students as well as residents and faculty leading Choosing Wisely related initiatives in their settings. The agenda included resident-led clinical learning pearls on key Choosing Wisely topics in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Resident speakers and faculty also shared their own leadership journeys and explored with students how to apply their experiences in STARS to their future careers as physicians. The 2020-2021 cohort of Choosing Wisely Canada STARS joins over 150 medical students who have participated in STARS since its inception in 2015! Choosing Wisely Canada is committed to nurturing the next generation of medical student leaders through STARS, which is generously supported by the Canadian Medical Association.

Thank you to the physician and resident faculty for the STARS March 2021 Leadership Summit: Dr. Laila Premji, Dr. Chandandeep Bal, Dr. Catherine Friedman, Dr. Emmett Harrison, Dr. William Silverstein and Dr. Anastasiya Muntyanu.
