The Importance of Engaging Patient Partners in Antimicrobial Stewardship

23 Jun 2021

12:00pm EST - 1:00pm EST

Across Canada, there have been major efforts to address the rise of antimicrobial resistance – a serious and growing public health threat. Engaging patients in antimicrobial stewardship efforts provides an important perspective that can help advance public education and quality improvement initiatives to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use.

Join the De/Implement series on June 23 at 12 p.m. ET to hear from Dr. Jason Vanstone, a Research Scientist at the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Dr. Vanstone will share insights on the importance of engaging patient partners in antimicrobial stewardship using examples from the Saskatchewan Antimicrobial Stewardship Program.

Cindy Dumba, a patient and public advisor with Choosing Wisely Canada and in Saskatchewan, will join the question and answer session to share perspectives on engaging patient and public members in these efforts.
