Bronchiolitis is the most common viral respiratory disease in infants and is frequently encountered in primary care settings. Despite the lack of proven benefits, routine pharmacotherapy, chest radiographs, and laboratory testing are often ordered by providers. Providers often feel the need to “do something” when faced with these infants and their worried caregivers, especially when there is diagnostic uncertainty.
